We have known all along that our very own Senior Manager of Science and Applications, Alyssa Master, is amazing, and now the San Diego Daily Transcript confirms it. Master was just featured in the April 19 40 Under 40 issue alongside other up and coming San Diego leaders.

Driven by a love of solving problems, Master was the third employee hired at Nucleus Biologics, initially holding the dual role of sales representative and lead scientist. Today she’s an integral part of the management team, helping us to further our mission to provide the highest quality cell culture solutions to feed scientific breakthroughs.

Passionate about fast-tracking science, and an active member of the San Diego Biotech community, Master is a biomedical engineer with 10+ years of academic and industrial R&D experience in biomaterials and drug delivery. She is a champion for using high-quality serum in cell culture experiments to improve outcomes and has written numerous scientific blogs on the topic and was published in the March 9, 2017 issue of GEN Magazine on how shifting quality of FBS can impact experiments. Just this March, Master was named Chair of the Southern California Women In Bio Chapter – promoting careers, leadership and entrepreneurship of women in life sciences – after serving as secretary.

Master’s graduate work at Case Western Reserve University, focused on therapeutic nanoparticle formulations, earned her a coveted National Institute of Health F31 fellowship grant. While at Case Western, she founded a local chapter of the Society For Biomaterials as its president. Master was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Illinois and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and holds a BS, MS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering.

Please join us in congratulating her on this most recent recognition!
